North King County Mobility Coalition Publishes 2020 Gaps Analysis

January 19, 2021
After nearly a year of surveying members of the community, reaching out to transportation providers, and analyzing data, the North King County Mobility Coalition is pleased to announce the publication of the 2020 Gaps Analysis. The NKCMC is staffed by Hopelink and receives funding from the Washington State Department of Transportation.

The report looks at multi-modal transportation across all six North King County cities, which include Shoreline, Lake Forest Park, Seattle north of the ship canal, Kenmore, Bothell, and Woodinville. It is a compilation of a community needs survey, regional needs assessments, data analysis, and interviews with service providers and city staff from North King County.

As a result of this analysis, the NKCMC has identified several prioritized projects and actions for the region. First and foremost, the analysis calls for direct engagement with city staff and officials around the transportation gaps highlighted, as well as the implementation of actions that will address key issues.

Beyond that, the primary needs identified include: an increase in outreach to limited English proficient populations; low barrier intake for alternative transportation services; an increase in coordination between cross-county transportation providers; better access to several geographic areas in North King County; and improved sidewalk and bicycle infrastructure. For more detailed explanations of the needs, please read the full report.

Whether you’re a resident, a human service provider, a city official, or a private business, the North King County Mobility Coalition encourages you to join in on these conversations.

To request the report in alternative formats or get involved with the Coalition, please reach out to Maggie Harger, Mobility Coordinator, at mharger@hopelink.org or 425-943-6730.
