King County Mobility strives to ensure its services are accessible to people with disabilities. KCMobility invests a significant amount of resources to ensure its website is easier to use and more accessible for people with disabilities, and holds the strong belief every person has the right to live with dignity, equality, comfort, and independence.
Accessibility on KCMobility
KCMobility makes available an accessibility widget managed by Totera Web System and powered by a dedicated accessibility server. The software allows the site to improve its compliance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG 2.1), and periodically updated to adhere to the latest accessibility guidelines. 
Enabling the Accessibility Menu

Changing the Site Language

Introduction

King County records, as a government entity, conducts public business and records related to the business of King County. are generally available for public review. Nevertheless, King County is committed, to the extent allowable by law, to protect and secure personal information contained in King County records. This privacy commitment must be balanced with the rights to public access, under Chapter 42.56 RCW (Washington Public Disclosure Act), and consistent with KCC 2.14.030, and all other applicable federal, state, and local statutes or regulations.


Information privacy

King County gathers personal information when relevant, necessary, and fair, to the extent possible with the knowledge and consent of the individual, to accomplish county business. KCMobility only obtains this information through legal means. When King County collects personal information, KCMobility:

  • Explains why we are collecting personal information.
  • Limits the amount of personal information collected, necessary for the stated purpose in which why collected.
  • Takes steps to use personal information for the stated purpose in which why collected.
  • Takes steps to ensure, at the time of collection, personal information is accurate, complete, and current.
  • Provide personal information only to authorized King County employees, private contractors, or public organizations on need-to-know basses, as result of public disclosure requests, or required by the Public Records Act.
  • Legally required or permitted by law; or
  • Needed to complete transaction with the county.
  • Retains personal information only as long as necessary to conduct county business in accordance with records retention schedules.
  • Disposes of personal information in a secure manner to prevent unauthorized disclosures.
  • Takes organizational, technological, and physical measures to securely safeguard personal information.


Information specific to the Internet

King County may track information, such as user hits, visits, and sessions; however, this information cannot be linked to a specific person.


Cookies are another example of anonymous information KCMobility may use, as well. Cookies are small text files placed on user computers by a Web server to tailor information for the needs of user specific browsers. KCMobility's Web server is not able to determine personal data, nor retain these cookies for future uses.


Personal information collected on certain King County webpages is data provided by individual users. Providing personal information on the KCMobility website is purely voluntary. The information is used to better serve end-users. Should anyone choose not to provide personal information to a King County website, one may provide similar information to KCMobility in other ways, including visiting a county office during normal business hours or completing business by mail or telephone.


When King County collects personal information from children using KCMobility website, King County complies with the Federal Children's Online Privacy Protection Act.


King County's website has links to external websites, including government agencies, nonprofit organizations, and private businesses. When linking to websites outside King County's purview, users are exiting King County's website, where the privacy notice no longer applies. Instead, users are subject to different privacy notices or other terms and conditions of those external websites.

Upon request to a specific King County agency, individuals may review personal information the agency maintains and request corrections of any inaccuracies.
