About EERC

The Eastside Easy Rider Collaborative works to address mobility needs and challenges for East King County residents, with an increased focus on serving older adults, persons with disabilities, low-income individuals, veterans, recent immigrants, and youth. The EERC pursues its mission by providing these populations with education, tools, resources, and advocacy for useful transportation services needed to improve quality of life.

The EERC meets with community members, service providers, stakeholder groups, government agencies, and secular organizations to ensure access for necessary transportation services and alternatives for mobility challenged populations throughout the Eastside, remaining a regional top priority.
History

In the winter of 2005, representatives from multiple disciplines, including transportation, health, government, and human services, gathered in Bellevue, Washington, to discuss projects to increase health and human services access for older adults living within the community. Focusing on assisting Bellevue residents, the project advanced to clearly indicate a “bigger picture” approach was critical, and separate sub-regional plans would be more effective. As the vision expanded, the “Eastside Easy Rider Collaborative" (EERC) was organized to identify creative and cost-effective ways of assisting older adults, people with disabilities, youth, and low-income individuals living on the Eastside, with the goal of advocating for improving quality of life through independent mobility.
Mission & Goals

As the regional East King County Mobility Coalition, the Eastside Easy Rider Collaborative (EERC) works to improve regional mobility awareness and access to transportation for special needs populations through education, advocacy, coordination, and collaboration. 

Goal 1: Maintain and expand active participation of Eastside Easy Rider Collaborative members.

Goal 2: Partner with member organizations to bring mobility improvement projects to East King County and ideas to decision makers at municipal levels.

Goal 3: Enhanced partnerships through Mobility Education and Outreach for the coordination of outreach events and virtual educational opportunities about public transit and alternative transportation for East King County residents. 

Projects & Resources


The Eastside Easy Rider Collaborative represents a partnership of public and non-profit agencies, including human services, local governments, transportation providers, and citizen advocates, who help coordinate efforts to meet increasing mobility needs for individuals with special transportation requirements.

Meeting Summaries

Starting in January each year, the Coalition meets every other month on the last Tuesday from 1:00 – 2:30pm at rotating locations. Additional events or meetings are scheduled as needed.
