After a year of serving the community, Hopelink Mobility sunsets the Vaccine Transportation Helpline
After a year of service to the community, Hopelink’s last day of the King County Coordinated Vaccine Transportation Helpline will be March 8th, 2022. After March 8th, individuals needing transportation to and from vaccine appointments, or other destinations, are encouraged to call the Transportation Resources Line (TRL): (425) 943-6760. The TRL is open Monday-Friday 8:30 AM – 4:00 PM. You can also visit www.FindARide.org.
The helpline partnered with many transportation providers across King County to serve over 150 clients who received their COVID-19 vaccines.
First, we must say a massive Thank You to the team and the people who made this Helpline happen. We start by saying Thank You to the excellent Hopelink staff responsible for taking all of the clients' phone calls and online submissions to ensure rides were fulfilled. Thank you, Catalina Gomez, Bebhinn Gilbert, and Julio Perez. Each of the three worked tirelessly to ensure all clients' requests were answered and had the support they needed to get to their vaccines. Kudos to the three of them!
Next, we must thank our COVID-19 Vaccine Mobility Task Force. Each person on that task force showed up weekly for many months to make sure that we could connect anyone who needed resources to the resources that they needed. This includes folks from King County Public Health, Aging and Disability Services, King County Metro, Sound Transit, City of Seattle, Seattle Department of Transportation, Sound Generations, Volunteer Services of CCS, City of Kirkland, and many others!
The crux of our success was the support we received from Transportation Providers across King County. We are incredibly grateful to each and every one of the following providers: Sound Generations, Volunteer Services of CCS, Snoqualmie Valley Transportation, Northshore Senior Center, King County Metro Access and Community Van, Hopelink Non-Emergency Medical Transportation, Lyft, and Uber.
Finally, we must say thank you to the Hopelink Mobility Management team! Under the guidance of our Director, Staci Sahoo, we were able to work with so many of you to make this Helpline happen. This fantastic work was supported by the Regional Alliance for Resilient and Equitable Transportation staff, Bree Boyce & Dean Sydnor. Each of our team members contributed to the success of this Helpline!
Hopelink's Mobility Management team remains committed to helping people access the COVID-19 vaccine. We can no longer guarantee free transportation to and from vaccine appointments; however, we are still here to connect community members to transportation resources.
If you, or someone you know, needs transportation to and from a vaccine appointment – or any other destination, please call the Transportation Resources Line at 425-943-6760. Callers will receive information about available options that meet their needs.
