Find a Ride Every Ride Counts Marketing Report December 4, 2023

The National Aging and Disability Transportation Center (NADTC) granted Find a Ride the opportunity to participate in their Every Ride Counts Pilot Program. Hopelink integrated the Every Ride Counts campaign branding and values into our marketing plan for Find a Ride’s trip planner. Through our inclusive planning process and ongoing coalition partnerships, we brought together public transit, human services transportation providers, aging and disability organizations, community leaders, and community members—including older adults, people with disabilities, and caregivers. These community members gave feedback about NADTC’s Every Ride Counts Campaign from August through November 2023. As part of launching our trip planner website and recruiting community testers from these partners, we engaged in virtual and in-person community outreach.

NKCMC CCT One Page Overview on Recommendations

Project Overview:

The North King County Mobility Coalition, in collaboration with the University of Washington, commenced a five-month study in February 2023 with the objective of gaining deeper insights into cross-border travel, specifically between King and Snohomish Counties. This initiative aimed to address the challenges and opportunities associated with transportation services in the region, focusing on the needs of individuals who rely on paratransit or specialized transportation services.

Research Collaboration:

The coalition partnered with the University of Washington Evans School of Public Policy & Governance's Student Consulting Lab to conduct this in-depth study. Graduate students from this prestigious institution were entrusted with conducting the research, bringing fresh perspectives and analytical expertise to the project.

Focus Areas:

The "Cross-County Transportation" project primarily concentrated on analyzing the barriers and opportunities faced by riders while commuting between King and Snohomish Counties. The study paid particular attention to local organizations and clients who rely on paratransit or specialized transportation services. Their valuable input played a pivotal role in shaping the research's direction.

Identifying Client Needs:

Throughout the study, the research team actively sought to identify the needs and concerns of individuals who encounter limitations with the current cross-county transportation landscape. By engaging with local organizations and clients, the study aimed to comprehensively understand the challenges they face, with a particular focus on people with disabilities and older adults.

Advocating for Improvements:

The primary goal of the resulting report is to raise awareness of the identified needs and advocate for enhancements in cross-country travel. By addressing the grievances expressed by individuals who rely on specialized transportation services, the project seeks to facilitate seamless mobility across county lines. It emphasizes the importance of creating an inclusive transportation system that accommodates the needs of all community members, especially those with disabilities and older adults.

To gain a comprehensive understanding of the findings and recommendations of this vital study and to support the advocacy for improved cross-country travel, it is recommended to access the full report provided by the North King County Mobility Coalition.
